Tom Osteraas has broad experience as a transactional lawyer both in and out
of the power industry. As senior counsel at NRG Energy, Inc. responsible for its European
activities in 1997–1998, he oversaw all aspects of the development and financial
closing of significant greenfield projects in the Czech Republic and in England. As General Counsel at Cogeneration Corporation of America, he helped CogenAmerica
during the start-up phase of two facilities, and was responsible for all legal
affairs relating to the sale of eighty percent of the stock of CogenAmerica to
Calpine Corporation. Prior to joining Excelsior Energy, Tom was a Partner in
the Finance and Restructuring Group at Faegre & Benson LLP in Minneapolis, Minnesota,
where his practice focused on structured finance and securitization. Tom began his
career as a member of the Financial Transaction Group at Morrison & Foerster in
Los Angeles, California. Tom received his undergraduate degree from Harvard University
and his law degree from the University of Minnesota. |
